Effect of asymmetric Pt thickness on the inverse spin Hall voltage in Pt/Co/Pt trilayers

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
Ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) is an effective technique for probing the magnetization dynamics of magnetic thin films. In particular, bilayer systems composed of a paramagnetic layer and a ferromagnetic layer are commonly used for FMR-driven spin pumping

Spinning the probe in Kerr with WQFT

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
A bstract We investigate the gravitational scattering of a spinning probe mass in a Kerr background using the worldline quantum field theory approach. This corresponds to the leading term (0SF) in the gravitational self-force expansion for the spinning two-body problem with ...

Quasi-nondegenerate pump–probe magnetooptical experiment in GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure based on spectral filtration

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2020
We report on a quasi-nondegenerate pump–probe technique that is based on spectral-filtration of femtosecond laser pulses by a pair of mutually-spectrally-disjunctive commercially available interference filters.

Shot-noise-limited optical polarimetry with spin-alignment and magnetism decoupling

open access: yesResults in Physics
Quantum non-demolition measurement with an off-resonance polarized probe is a widely utilized technique for atomic sensors. We observe previously unexplored spin-alignment polarization induced by the far-detuned off-resonance linear probe in an ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Cooling of the Nuclear Spin System of a Nanostructure by Oscillating Magnetic Fields

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2023
We propose a method of cooling nuclear spin systems of solid-state nanostructures by applying a time-dependent magnetic field synchronized with spin fluctuations. Optical spin noise spectroscopy is considered a method of fluctuation control. Depending on

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Dispersive measurement of spin shot noise in a Bose-Einstein condensate

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
We report dispersive spin shot noise measurement of a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC). While dispersive probing has been used for quantum spin noise measurement of thermal and cold gases for decades, confirmative measurement of shot noise of real spin, i ...
