Time Refraction of Spin Waves [PDF]
We present an experimental study of time refraction of spin waves propagating in microscopic waveguides under the influence of time-varying magnetic fields. Using space- and time-resolved Brillouin light scattering microscopy, we demonstrate that the broken translational symmetry along the time coordinate can be used to in- or decrease the energy of ...

Spin waves and orbital contribution to ferromagnetism in a topological metal. [PDF]
Special arrangements of atoms with more than one atom per unit cell, including honeycomb or kagome (woven bamboo mat) lattices, can host propagating excitations with non-trivial topology as defined by their evolution along closed paths in momentum space.

Spin-Wave Wave Function for Quantum Spin Models [PDF]
We present a new approach to determine an accurate variational wave function for general quantum spin models, completely defined by a consistency requirement with the simple and well known linear spin·wave expansion. With this wave function, it is also possible to obtain the correct behavior of the long distance correlation functions for the 1D S=1/2 ...

Spin Waves in Quasiequilibrium Spin Systems [PDF]
Using the Landau Fermi liquid theory we have discovered a new regime for the propagation of spin waves in a quasi-equilibrium spin systems. We have determined the dispersion relation for the transverse spin waves and found that one of the modes is gapless.

Dynamical and topological properties of the spin angular momenta in general electromagnetic fields
Spin angular momenta play important roles in light–matter interactions, leading to the emergence of the spin Hall effect and topological quasiparticles in modern optics.

Spin waves in random spin chains [PDF]
We study quantum spin-1/2 Heisenberg ferromagnetic chains with dilute random antiferromagnetic impurity bonds with the modified spin-wave theory. By describing thermal excitations in the language of spin waves, we observe a low-temperature Curie susceptibility due to the formation of large spin clusters first predicted by the real-space renormalization-

We demonstrate that an evanescent wave spin exists outside a finite quantum well by solving the Dirac equation in a finite cylindrical quantum well. The analytical analysis validates the wavefunction inside an infinite quantum well but recovers a non-zero evanescent wave outside the well.
