Electron-spin-resonance spectra of spinach phosphodoxin and spinach chloroplasts
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Specialized Section on Biophysical Subjects, 1964Abstract It has been found that: the dark electron-spin-resonance spectrum of spinach chloroplast fragments is reduced in the presence of spinach phosphodoxin; the light-induced electron-spin-resonance spectrum of spinach chloroplast fragments is increased in the presence of spinach phosphodoxin; and spinach phosphodoxin alone exhibits a pH-dependent,

Chemical Modification of Spinach Ferredoxin
The Journal of Biochemistry, 1977The acetylation of spinach ferredoxin by acetic anhydride modified about four moles of amino groups. The absorption spectra, CD spectra, the fluorescence of sole tryptophan residue and the biological activity of acetylated ferredoxin were investigated. An equilibrium existed between two different states, D- and N-form, of the acetylated ferredoxin and ...

This essay examines media accounts of the 2006 E. coli contamination of bagged spinach to piece together a forensics that demonstrates both the real and symbolic meanings of contamination. Following the path of production from field to processing plant and then to supermarket shelf, the essay maps a landscape of policed spaces and borders that have as ...

Calcium absorbability from spinach
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1988The absorbability of calcium from spinach was compared with the absorbability of Ca from milk in 13 healthy adults in a randomized cross-over design in which the test meal of either milk or spinach had 200 mg of Ca labeled with 45Ca. Absorption was measured by the standard double-isotope method in which both the test food and the miscible Ca pool are ...

Utilization of zeolites in spinach growing
Zeolites, 1984Various zeolites obtained by hydrothermal synthesis from Lipari pumice have been tested as soil conditioners in spinach-growing. The results of germinability and yield are compared with those of a traditional reference culture. Direct addition of zeolites to the soil results in increased germinability of spinach seed relative to controls.
