Proportion of parental genomes in hybrids Allium cepa × A. roylei determines which one becomes dominant

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 18, Issue 2, June 2025.
Abstract Interspecific hybridization leads to complex interactions between the parental genomes, often in the form of genome dominance, where one genome prevails over the other. This phenomenon has been attributed to differential chromosome behavior during meiotic division and may involve either female or male meiosis, or both.

Prediction of Tribological Properties of PC‐PBT/GNP‐MWCNT Nanocomposites Using Machine Learning Models

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 142, Issue 18, May 10, 2025.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the effect of the incorporation of multi‐walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) in polycarbonate‐poly(butylene terephthalate) (PC‐PBT) blends on the mechanical and tribological blend properties. PC‐PBT/GNP‐MWCNT nanocomposites were synthesized via melt‐compounding with various filler loadings

Multi‐material Volumetric Bioprinting and Plug‐and‐play Suspension Bath Biofabrication via Bioresin Molecular Weight Tuning and via Multiwavelength Alignment Optics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Multimaterial volumetric and embedded extrusion bioprinting of complex cell‐laden architectures is enabled by unravelling the interplay between molecular weight and degree of functionalization in gelatin‐based bioresins. Tomographic light‐responsive support baths for suspended printing can be easily generated from single component materials.

The Role of Cholesterol Metabolism and Its Regulation in Tumor Development

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 7, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Within the tumor microenvironment, tumor cells undergo metabolic reprogramming of cholesterol due to intrinsic cellular alterations and changes in the extracellular milieu. Furthermore, cholesterol reprogramming within this microenvironment influences the immune landscape of tumors, facilitating immune evasion and consequently ...

Model Averaging and Double Machine Learning

open access: yesJournal of Applied Econometrics, Volume 40, Issue 3, Page 249-269, April/May 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper discusses pairing double/debiased machine learning (DDML) with stacking, a model averaging method for combining multiple candidate learners, to estimate structural parameters. In addition to conventional stacking, we consider two stacking variants available for DDML: Short‐stacking exploits the cross‐fitting step of DDML to ...
