Spinal Cord Abnormalities in Early Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis
ABSTRACT Spinal cord lesions and atrophy in the cervical region are common in adult multiple sclerosis (MS) and correlate with disability. Whether similar abnormalities occur in pediatric MS patients is largely unknown. Clinical and MRI evaluations were performed in 38 pediatric MS patients and 13 healthy controls (HC).

Spine immobilization apparatus [PDF]
The apparatus makes use of a normally flat, flexible bladder filled with beads or micro-balloons that form a rigid mass when the pressure within the bladder is decreased below ambient through the use of a suction pump so that the bladder can be conformed

Experimental Evaluation of Book Drawing Algorithms
A $k$-page book drawing of a graph $G=(V,E)$ consists of a linear ordering of its vertices along a spine and an assignment of each edge to one of the $k$ pages, which are half-planes bounded by the spine. In a book drawing, two edges cross if and only if

ABSTRACT Objective To distinguish lateralized motor‐ and sensory‐tract damage after acute spinal cord injury (SCI) and explore its predictive power for motor and sensory recovery. Methods Thirty‐five SCI patients (two female) from a multi‐center data set (placebo‐arm of the Nogo‐A‐Inhibition in SCI trial) underwent routine T2‐weighted sagittal MRI ...

Dendritic cable with active spines: a modeling study in the spike-diffuse-spike framework [PDF]
The spike-diffuse-spike (SDS) model describes a passive dendritic tree with active dendritic spines. Spine-head dynamics is modelled with a simple integrate-and-fire process, whilst communication between spines is mediated by the cable equation. Here we

ABSTRACT A 70‐year‐old presents with 6 weeks of progressive bilateral vision loss and headaches. He was also recently treated for presumed sciatica. His exam on admission is notable for poor visual acuity (no light perception), optic nerve atrophy bilaterally with swelling and disc hemorrhage on the left eye and left foot drop.
