Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Splenic Function in Adult Coeliac Disease [PDF]
Summary. The rate of clearance of 15Cr‐labelled, heat‐damaged red cells from the circulation has been measured in 18 patients with adult coeliac disease. This has been combined with scintillation scanning of the spleen using a colour scanning method. Only two of the patients had clearance times within normal limits. Five had a peripheral blood picture

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Utility of Lymph Node Aspiration in the Diagnosis of Visceral Leishmaniasis in Sudan. [PDF]
We evaluated lymph node aspiration (LNA) as a simple diagnostic procedure for visceral leishmaniasis (VL). Lymph node aspiration was compared with the direct agglutination test (DAT) using a diagnostic titer > or = 1:6,400 in 7,880 suspected VL patients ...

Surgical management of splenic echinococcal disease [PDF]
