With continued development of location-based systems, large amounts of trajectories become available which record moving objects’ locations across time. If the trajectories collected by different location-based systems come from the same moving object, they are spliceable trajectories, which contribute to representing holistic behaviors of the moving ...

Splicing and Alternative Splicing and the Impact of Mechanics
2020Systems-wide approaches have gained new insights into mRNA splicing. Improved cryo-EM techniques have elucidated the structure of splice components. Recent findings on the molecular architecture of the human spliceosome are unveiled. In complement to the normal splicing of introns out of DNA sequences, alternative splicing is also examined.

Connectors and splices link the ends of two fibers both optically and mechanically. The two are not interchangeable. A connector is mounted on the end of a cable or optical device so it can be attached to other cables or devices. Like electrical connectors, fiberoptic connectors can be plugged and unplugged. In contrast, splices are permanent junctions
