USING SPLINE FUNCTIONS FOR THE SUBSTANTIATION OF TAX POLICIES BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES [PDF]
The paper aims to approach innovative financial instruments for the management of public resources. In the category of these innovative tools have been included polynomial spline functions used for budgetary sizing in the substantiating of fiscal and ...

Low‐level ambient benzene exposure is associated with increased risks of multiple brain disorders in urban adults. Genetic susceptibility modifies these associations, while plasma proteomics points to potential biological pathways linking benzene exposure to adverse brain health.

Performance of robust GCV and modified GCV for spline smoothing [PDF]
While it is a popular selection criterion for spline smoothing, generalized cross-validation (GCV) occasionally yields severely undersmoothed estimates.

stMixer for Scalable Mosaic Integration and Label Transfer in Spatial Histology and Multi‐Omics
stMixer is an unsupervised framework for scalable integration and label transfer across spatial histology and multi‐slide multi‐omics data with incomplete modality overlap. It combines self‐looped cross‐attention, multimodal metric learning, and graph‐guided cluster voting to align heterogeneous sections, correct batch effects, and propagate ...

18. Smoothing spline (p. 21) [PDF]
This chapter promotes, details and exploits the fact that (univariate) splines, i.e., smooth piecewise polynomial functions, are weighted sums of B-splines. 1.

Mechanical Activation of Piezo1 Drives Osteoarthritis Through Kdm5c‐Mediated Epigenetic Silencing
Excessive mechanical stress activates Piezo1, triggering Ca2+‐dependent cytoskeletal forces that deform the nucleus and reduce H3K4me3. Kdm5c demethylates H3K4me3 at Col2a1 and Runx3 promoters. Kdm5c knockout rescues degradation. Repurposed telmisartan directly inhibits Kdm5c, blocking this axis and showing disease‐modifying efficacy in mouse OA models

Bicubic splines and biquartic polynomials
The paper proposes a new efficient approach to computation of interpolating spline surfaces. The generalization of an unexpected property, noticed while approximating polynomials of degree four by cubic ones, confirmed that a similar interrelation ...

An O(h6) cubic spline interpolating procedure for harmonic functions [PDF]
An O(h6) method for the interpolation of harmonic functions in rectangular do- mains is described and analysed. The method is based on an earlier cubic spline tech- nique [7], and makes use of recent results concerning the a posteriori correction of ...

An exciting Approach to Theoretical Spectroscopy
ABSTRACT Theoretical spectroscopy, and more generally, electronic‐structure theory, are powerful concepts for describing the complex many‐body interactions in materials. They cover methods from ground‐state properties to lattice excitations and light‐matter interaction, including time‐resolved variants.
