Comparison of selected splines for stem form modeling: A case study in Norway spruce
Natural cubic spline has been frequently used to represent stem forms, with other spline types rarely involved. Splines are a large class of functions and there are many other spline types which might serve that purpose.

Thin plate splines for transfinite interpolation at concentric circles
We propose a new method for constructing a polyspline on annuli, i.e. a C 2 surface on ℝ2 \ {0}, which is piecewise biharmonic on annuli centered at 0 and interpolates smooth data at all interface circles.

SPLINE APPROXIMATION FOR ZADEH'S EXTENSIONS
In this paper we show an approximation for [Formula: see text], where u is a fuzzy interval and [Formula: see text] is obtained from a continuous function f applying the Zadeh's extension principle. In this process, we used a decomposition for u and the linear spline function for the approximation of f.

Approximate -spline surface skinning
This paper considers the problem of constructing a smooth surface to fit rows of data points. A special class of T-spline surfaces is examined, which is characterized to have a global knot vector in one parameter direction and individual knot vectors from row to row in the other parameter direction.

Two-stage spline-approximation in linear structure routing
In the article, computer design of routes of linear structures is considered as a spline approximation problem. A fundamental feature of the corresponding design tasks is that the plan and longitudinal profile of the route consist of elements of a given ...

Dual Taylor Series, Spline Based Function and Integral Approximation and Applications
In this paper, function approximation is utilized to establish functional series approximations to integrals. The starting point is the definition of a dual Taylor series, which is a natural extension of a Taylor series, and spline based series ...

PENALIZED SPLINE: A GENERAL ROBUST TRAJECTORY MODEL FOR ZIYUAN-3 SATELLITE [PDF]
Owing to the dynamic imaging system, the trajectory model plays a very important role in the geometric processing of high resolution satellite imagery. However, establishing a trajectory model is difficult when only discrete and noisy data are available.
