Design of a dual linear polarization antenna using split ring resonators at X-band [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Radio Science, 2017
Dual linear polarization microstrip antenna configurations are very suitable for high-performance satellites, wireless communication and radar applications. This paper presents a new method to improve the co-cross polarization discrimination (XPD) for

Dynamically tunable terahertz metamaterial sensor based on metal–graphene hybrid structural unit

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
By verifying the electromagnetic response characteristics of graphene in the low terahertz (THz) band, a terahertz metamaterial sensor is proposed. The unit cell of the metamaterial sensor is a split ring resonator nested square ring resonator. The split

The split ring resonator

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2010
We obtain band diagrams for a two-dimensional periodic structure consisting of an infinite square array of infinitely thin concentric circles (split rings) with narrow gaps. Our approach exploits the narrowness of the gaps and yields algebraic equations relating the frequency to the Bloch wavenumber and geometric properties of the array.

Coupling enhancement of split ring resonators on graphene [PDF]

open access: yesCarbon, 2014
Metallic split ring resonator (SRR) structures are used in nanophotonics applications in order to localize and enhance incident electromagnetic field. Electrically controllable sheet carrier concentration of graphene provides a platform where the resonance of the SRRs fabricated on graphene can be tuned.

Nonlinear properties of split-ring resonators

open access: yesOptics Express, 2008
In this letter, the properties of split-ring resonators (SRRs) loaded with high-Q capacitors and nonlinear varactors are theoretically analyzed and experimentally measured. We demonstrate that the resonance frequency $f_m$ of the nonlinear SRRs can be tuned by increasing the incident power. $f_m$ moves to lower and higher frequencies for the SRR loaded

Single superconducting split-ring resonator electrodynamics [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2006
We investigate the microwave electrodynamic properties of a single superconducting thin film split-ring resonator (SRR). Transmission data showed a high-Q stop band for a single Nb SRR (Q∼4.5×104 at 4.2K) below Tc, and no such feature for a Cu SRR or closed Nb loops. Adding SRRs increased the bandwidth, but decreased the insertion loss of the features.

On the resonances and polarizabilities of split ring resonators

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2005
In this paper, the behavior at resonance of split ring resonators (SRRs) and other related topologies, such as the nonbianisotropic SRR and the broadside-coupled SRR, are studied. It is shown that these structures exhibit a fundamental resonant mode (the quasistatic resonance) and other higher-order modes which are related to dynamic processes.

Improved Split-Ring Resonator for Microfluidic Sensing [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2014
We present a method of making low-loss split-ring resonators (SRRs) for microfluidic sensing at microwave frequencies using silver-coated copper wire. We show that a simple geometric modification and the use of square cross-section wire give greater electric field confinement in the capacitive region of the resonant sensor.

Deep subwavelength split ring neck acoustic resonator

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
Here, a novel acoustic resonator is proposed, realizing deep sub-wavelength form. An embedded split ring neck configuration is adopted, which makes the acoustic resonator being flat while lowering the acoustic resonance frequency. This resonant frequency
