A method for prompt calculation of neutron flux from measured SPND currents

Annals of Nuclear Energy, 1997
Abstract A new, approximate method is given to calculate the in-core flux from the current of SPND s, with a delay of only a few seconds. The stability of this stepwise algorithm is proven to be satisfactory, and the results of tests performed both on synthetic and on real data are presented.

Design of discrete-time Kalman filter based delay compensator for Rhodium-103 SPND

2018 Indian Control Conference (ICC), 2018
Rhodium-103 Self-Powered Neutron Detectors (SPNDs) are used in typical Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs) for flux measurement. They are slow responding neutron detectors. The slow response of Rhodium-103 SPND restricts its direct use for monitoring, control and determination of parameters like neutron flux distribution, local flux peaking.
