The Assembled Genome of the Stroke-Prone Spontaneously Hypertensive Rat

Hypertension, 2023
Background: We report the creation and evaluation of a de novo assembly of the genome of the spontaneously hypertensive rat, the most widely used model of human cardiovascular disease. Methods: The genome is assembled from long read sequencing (PacBio HiFi and continuous long read ...

Spontaneous assembly of a hydrogen-bonded tetrahedron

Chemical Communications, 2002
Triphenylamine ortho-tricarboxylic acid (1) has been synthesized and the crystal structure reported. This molecule is shown to spontaneously self-assemble into a hydrogen-bonded tetrahedron. Furthermore, Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectroscopy shows evidence for the stability of such aggregates from an ethanol/water solution.

Spontaneous Assembly of Magnetic Microspheres

Advanced Materials, 2007
The ability to assemble materials organized over different length scales is an important goal in the development of new functional materials. In particular, actualizing the potential of emerging nanomaterials often requires their arrangement into larger assemblies, while preserving the constituents’ functionalities.

Spontaneous Assembly of Soda Straws

Journal of Chemical Education, 2002
This paper describes simple methods for demonstrating spontaneous assembly of visible particles to illustrate topics such as the thermodynamics of crystallization. The assembling units are polymer tubes--portions of soda straws or connector bonds from certain chemistry model kits--floated on water.

Spontaneous self-assembly process for threadlike micelles

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2007
More than 100μs dissipative particle dynamics simulations were carried out to investigate the spontaneous formation process of threadlike micelles from the random configuration for surfactant molecules. Stable spherical micelles were formed during the earlier stage.
