Anisotropic Superparamagnetism of Monodispersive Cobalt-Platinum Nanocrystals
Based on the high-temperature organometallic route (Sun et al. Science 287, 1989 (2000)), we have synthesized powders containing CoPt_3 single crystals with mean diameters of 3.3(2) nm and 6.0(2) nm and small log-normal widths sigma=0.15(1).

Chimeric protein complexes in hybrid species generate novel phenotypes. [PDF]
Hybridization between species is an important mechanism for the origin of novel lineages and adaptation to new environments. Increased allelic variation and modification of the transcriptional network are the two recognized forces currently deemed to be ...

Non-conventional superconductivity in magnetic In and Sn nanoparticles
We report on experimental evidence of non-conversional pairing in In and Sn nanoparticle assemblies. Spontaneous magnetizations are observed, through extremely weak-field magnetization and neutron-diffraction measurements, to develop when the ...

Magnetism of cobalt nanoclusters on graphene on iridium [PDF]
The structure and magnetic properties of Co clusters, comprising from 26 to 2700 atoms, self-organized or not on the graphene/Ir(111) moir\'e, were studied in situ with the help of scanning tunneling microscopy and X-ray magnetic circular dichroism ...

The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of
