Microscopic Theory for Spontaneous Fission
Nuclear fission is a fascinating field of research that involves large-amplitude collective dynamics of a microscopic many-body system. Specifically, the process of spontaneous-fission decay can only be explained within the quantum tunneling phenomenon ...

Structure of the prompt neutron multiplicity distribution in the spontaneous fission of 256Rf
An experimental study of 256Rf spontaneous fission following the fusion reaction of 50Ti+208Pb was performed using the velocity filter SHELS of the Flerov laboratory at JINR. The average number of neutrons of ν‾=4.30±0.17 and variance of σν2=3.2 from the

Manifestation of ternary clusterization in binary spontaneous fission of 252Cf
New ternary cluster mode in binary fission is suggested. This abnormal binary decay is characterized by a much lower total kinetic energy, a much higher excitation energy of heavy fission fragment and, thus, a larger neutron multiplicity.

REVIEW ON THE NEUTRON SOURCE STRENGTH OF HEU METAL BURST REACTOR [PDF]
There were two similar series of burst waiting time experiments carried out on Godiva-II and Caliban respectively and analyzed for neutron initiation study, unfortunately both the strength of spontaneous fission neutron source given in the published ...

Spectral averaged cross sections as a probe to a high energy tail of 235U PFNS [PDF]
The systematic evaluations of spectrum averaged cross sections of dosimetric reactions over a broad range of energies were performed in 252Cf (spontaneous fission) and 235U(nth,f) neutron fields.

Method to Compare Fission-to-Scattering Ratios using Uranium-238 [PDF]
A novel method was developed to separate the 238U fission contribution measured in quasi-differential time-of-flight scattering experiments in order to isolate the elastic and inelastic events.

A Study of the Minimum Thermal Power of a Nuclear Reactor
The minimum mass for a critical reactor is well studied whereas the minimum heat production from a nuclear reactor has received little attention. The thermal power of a (sub)critical reactor originates from fission as well as radioactive decay.

Investigation of the spontaneous fission properties of neutron-deficient nobelium isotopes
In the last years we carried out several experiments aimed to investigate properties of short-lived SF isotopes. The neutron-deficient isotopes of nobelium were produced in fusion-evaporation reactions using206,208Pb targets and an intense48Ca-beam ...
