Dinuclear system model in spontaneous fission process [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
The application of the dinuclear system model is discussed to describe the spontaneous fission process. Cluster decay widths and spontaneous fission of 234U are calculated within the same approach.

Spontaneous Fission [PDF]

open access: yes, 1950
The first attempt to discover spontaneous fission in uranium was made by Libby, who, however, failed to detect it on account of the smallness of effect. In 1940, Petrzhak and Flerov, using more sensitive methods, discovered spontaneous fission in uranium and gave some rough estimates of the spontaneous fission decay constant of this substance ...

Spontaneous fission of rutherfordium isotopes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review C, 1985
We have found several new spontaneous fission (SF) activities and suggested assignments for some of them to rutherfordium (element 104) isotopes. Their half-lives and production cross sections have been measured by collecting recoils on a moving nickel or steel tape and transporting them past stationary mica track detectors at known velocities.

Dependence of the prompt fission γ-ray spectrum on the entrance channel of compound nucleus: Spontaneous vs. neutron-induced fission [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2018
Prompt γ-ray spectra were measured for the spontaneous fission of 240,242Pu and the neutron-induced fission of 239,241Pu with incident neutron energies ranging from thermal to about 100 keV.

Towards high accurate neutron-induced fission cross sections of 240,242Pu: Spontaneous fission half-lives [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Fast spectrum neutron-induced fission cross sections of transuranic isotopes are being of special demand in order to provide accurate data for the new GEN-IV nuclear power plants.

Formation mechanism of decay fragments in spontaneous ternary fission of heavy nuclei [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
A model for describing spontaneous ternary fission of heavy nuclei is presented. It follows from the suggested model that heavy nuclei have the same half-lives in spontaneous ternary and binary fission processes.

Study of spontaneous fission lifetimes using nuclear density functional theory [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
The spontaneous fission lifetimes have been studied microscopically by minimizing the collective action integral in a two-dimensional collective space of quadrupole moments (Q20, Q22) representing elongation and triaxiality.

A Quarter Century of EHD Protein Research: From Endosomal Recycling to Ciliopathies. [PDF]

open access: yesTraffic
Human EHD protein subcellular localization. ABSTRACT Eps15 homology domain‐containing proteins comprise a conserved family of membrane‐remodeling ATPases that regulate endocytic trafficking, membrane fission, receptor recycling, primary ciliogenesis and membrane dynamics across eukaryotes. Since the initial identification of EHD1 and its Caenorhabditis

Determining spontaneous fission properties by direct mass measurements with the FRS Ion Catcher [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
We present a direct method to measure fission product yield distributions (FPY) and isomeric yield ratios (IYR) for spontaneous fission (SF) fragments. These physical properties are of utmost importance to the understanding of basic nuclear physics, the ...

Predictions of the decay properties of the superheavy nuclei 293, 294119 and 294, 295120

open access: yesHe jishu, 2023
BackgroundTo date, various nuclides up to Z = 118 have been discovered and synthesized, raising the challenge of synthesizing nuclides with Z ≥ 119. Recently, the fusion-evaporation reactions 243Am54Cr, xn119297-x and 243Am55Mn, xn120298-x have been ...
