Sepsis secondary to cystitis in a guinea pig (Cavia porcellus)

Abstract Cystitis is a frequent, often chronic and recurrent disease in guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus). This report describes a case of a 2‐year‐old, entire, female Abyssinian guinea pig with fatal cystitis. The animal was presented with progressive chronic cystitis and had previously been treated with several antibiotics and analgesics.

Hyalohyphomycotic chronic rhinosinusitis caused by Microascus cirrosus in a cat

Abstract A 13‐year‐old, male, neutered, indoor‐only, domestic long‐haired cat was presented with an 8‐month history of sneezing and a 2‐month history of epistaxis. Computed tomography demonstrated an irregular contrast‐enhancing soft tissue opacity within both nasal cavities and osteolysis of surrounding bony structures.

Dual‐scale drivers of soil biodiversity in agroecosystems: Field management outweighs landscape effects, but both matter

These findings highlight the need for conservation strategies that integrate both field‐scale and landscape‐scale planning. The promotion of diverse land use types might offer a practical pathway to maximize the effectiveness of soil biodiversity conservation within an intensively managed agricultural matrix.
