DuckNet: an open‐source deep learning tool for waterfowl species identification in UAV imagery
Using drones with thermal‐RGB sensors and a deep learning model (RetinaNet with ResNet‐50), we surveyed non‐breeding waterfowl across restored wetlands in the Mississippi Alluvial Valley. Our model, DuckNet, achieved high accuracy and offers an open‐source, customizable tool for automated waterfowl detection to support conservation monitoring ...

Atomic‐Scale Insights Into Antisite‐Defect‐Induced Metallicity in Halide Perovskites
Using an aberration‐corrected scanning transmission electron microscope, we identify that the PbCs antisite defect in CsPbBr3 shortens the Pb─Pb bond by ∼20 pm, and induces local strain and polarization, leading to a semiconductor‐to‐metal transition.

Electrospun PAN Membrane Loaded with AgInP2Se6 Nanosheets for Triboelectric Energy Harvesting
Exfoliated AgInP2Se6 nanosheets are incorporated into a polyacrylonitrile (PAN) polymer matrix by electrospinning and applied for the first time in a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG). The hybrid membrane delivers strong electrical output and exhibits reversible humidity sensitivity, responding rapidly to changes in relative humidity.

Fluorescent dye labeling enables nanoparticle imaging but may subtly alter their surface chemistry and biological behavior. This study compares dye‐labeled and unlabeled cerium oxide nanozymes, revealing changes in cellular uptake kinetics without affecting their final intracellular fate. Combined fluorescence and label‐free electron microscopy imaging

In this study, the susceptibility to copper‐induced hot shortness of the alloy 42CrMo4 is investigated by different hot tensile tests, as well as by a detailed analysis of the formed oxidation products. While an enrichment of metallic copper and a penetration of the grain boundaries are observed, no critical reduction of the tensile test properties can

Influence of Higher Tramp Element Level on the Weldability of Automotive Steels
The use of green recycled steels is constantly expanding in the automotive industry. The increase in tramp elements resulting from the recycling of steel is problematic. Tramp elements can lead to a negative influence on the weldability. To understand the influence, the welding properties of three green steels are characterized. The potential limits of
