Effect of spray characteristics on spray cooling with liquid nitrogen
Journal of Thermophysics and Heat Transfer, 1994Operation of power electronics at liquid nitrogen (LN2) temperature is a very attractive possibility. However, a high heat flux (over 100 W/cm) cooling technique like spray cooling will have to be used to realize all the advantages of low-temperature operation. This study provides empirical correlations for LN2 spray cooling.

Experimental Study on the Spray Characteristics in the Spray Drying Absorber
Environmental Science & Technology, 2000A pilot-scale spray drying absorber (SDA) system was set up to evaluate the effect of spray characteristics on flue gas desulfurization efficiency. Varying spray injection conditions and inlet gas conditions, SO2 concentrations were measured using a combustion gas analyzer.

Effect of Spray Angle on Deposition Characteristics in Cold Spraying
International Thermal Spray Conference, 2003Abstract A typical feature of cold spray process is that a deposit can be formed without change of the original structure and compositions of spray materials. Only particles which reach the velocity higher than the critical velocity can be deposited on a substrate in cold spraying.

Correlation Between Spray Characteristics and Etching Characteristics in Twin Spray
Transactions of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers B, 2004The objective of this study is to obtain the correlation between the spray characteristics and the etching characteristics for the optimization of etching system in the micro fabrication industry. The etching characteristics such as etching rate were measured under different conditions. The single spray characteristics such as droplet size and velocity

The Interdependence of Spray Characteristics and Evaporation History of Fuel Sprays
Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power, 1984Previously developed calculation procedures [1, 2] based on evaporation analysis are used to predict the variation of JP-5 fuel spray characteristics (mean drop diameter, Dm, and drop-size distribution parameter, n) with time during evaporation in hot air. The method takes full account of transient effects occurring during the heat-up period.

Spray structures and vaporizing characteristics of a GDI fuel spray
KSME International Journal, 2002The spray structures and distribution characteristics of liquid and vapor phases in non-evaporating and evaporating Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) fuel sprays were investigated using Laser Induced Exciplex Fluorescence (LIEF) technique. Dopants were 2% fluorobenzene and 9% DEM A (diethyl-methyl-amine) in 89% solution of hexane by volume.

Abstract This study investigates the influence of high-frequency pulse detonation (HFPD) spraying parameters on particle characteristics and coating quality. A dual-slit velocimeter was used to measure the velocity and temperature of Al2O3 particles as fuel flow ratio and spray distance were adjusted.

Recently, many technologies have been developed in order to satisfy stringent emission regulations. However, in the case of diesel engines, the stringent emission regulations with respect to NOx and PM have not yet been satisfied. A dramatic reduction in the NOx and PM emissions could be achieved by using after-treatment systems such as lean NOx trap ...

Characteristics of intermittent fuel sprays
Combustion and Flame, 1992Abstract The spray-tip penetrations and the drop sizes of intermittent fuel sprays were measured by using a modified pulsed optical spray sizer. The average spray tip speeds were determined from simultaneously recorded needle lift signals and obscuration traces. The speeds of a sequence of fuel pulses injected at ∼ 10 3 Hz were analyzed to elucidate

FOLIAR SPRAY BANDING CHARACTERISTICS
Transactions of the ASAE, 2004Foliar spray banding was explored as a means of reducing pesticide use compared to broadcast applications. Various geometric spray patterns and delivery angles of foliar spray bands were investigated to increase spray deposits in a crop row at a constant spray rate of 94 L/ha.
