Prediction of Liquid and Vapor Penetration of High Pressure Diesel Sprays
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2006<div class="htmlview paragraph">A dense-particle Eulerian-Lagrangian stochastic methodology, able to resolve the dense spray formed at the nozzle exit has been applied to the simulation of evaporating diesel sprays. Local grid refinement at the area where the spray evolves allows use of cells having sizes from 0.6 down to 0.075mm.

Numerical simulation of the penetration capability of sprinkler sprays
Fire Safety Journal, 1999Computational models have been utilized to investigate the penetration capability of sprinkler sprays directly above a fire source with respect to water flow rate, spray drop size, and spray momentum. The spray models are generated by assigning a representative drop size, mass flow rate, discharge speed, and discharge angle for each of 275 trajectories

Simulation of Liquid Phase Penetration in Diesel Spray
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2001<div class="htmlview paragraph">In order to investigate on the complex phenomena that occur in the evolution of an evaporating fuel spray (like break up, fuel multicomponent evaporation, liquid gas interaction) a numerical analysis has been carried out. The numerical tool used is a modified version of the well known KIVA code in which a new break

Liquid-Phase Fuel Penetration in Diesel Sprays
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1998<div class="htmlview paragraph">The maximum axial penetration distance of liquid phase fuel (<i>i.e.</i>, the “liquid length”) in an evaporating diesel spray was investigated over a wide range of conditions using Mie-scattered light imaging.

Diesel engine sprays penetration modeling
2016The diesel engine spray penetration models were analysed. It was shown that COFM-model produces a reasonable agreement with the experimental data for the initial stage of penetration. It was analyzed that the introduction of fuel viscosity as model parameter can to improve the accuracy of model for biodiesel fuels.
