Dimensioning of spread spectrum systems for ISDN

1988 IEEE 5th International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications - Proceedings. Spread Technology to Africa (Cat. No.98TH8333), 2002
We deal with wireless local loop (WLL) systems using spread spectrum techniques to provide integrated services digital networks (ISDN) local access. We consider the dimensioning of a base station intended to serve various ISDN subscribers. The connection between subscribers and base station is achieved via the atmospheric channel and the transmission ...

Active RFID System With Spread-Spectrum Transmission

IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, 2009
In this paper, we propose a new direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA)-based transmission scheme for active, transmitter-only radio frequency identification (RFID) tags. We present the architecture of the system, as well as the mathematical analysis of detection performance and system capacity.

Signal detection in spread spectrum systems

Proceedings IEEE Southeastcon '98 'Engineering for a New Era', 2002
A direct sequence binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) spread spectrum is presented. The received signal is modeled as a pseudorandom binary sequence (PN) multiplied by the data signal in additive Gaussian noise. The design procedure for the optimum receiver is based upon the Neyman-Pearson detector.

Optimization of Coded Spread Spectrum System Performance

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1977
Error correction coding techniques significantly improve performance of spread spectrum communication systems in environments containing jamming, multipath, and unregulated multiple access. This paper investigates the optimization of spread spectrum system performance for time-varying unknown interference.

Power Division in Spread Spectrum Systems with Limiting

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1979
This paper finds power division through a bandpass nonlinearity when the input is two spread spectrum signals plus noise. This model applies to code division multiple access (CDMA) satellites or to multiple transmission of CDMA through a common Earth terminal transmitter. The solution requires finding a single attenuation constant for each input signal

The spread spectrum code hopping system

Proceedings of IEEE 3rd International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications (ISSSTA'94), 2002
Consumer communications employing spread spectrum techniques have been developed. The spread spectrum code hopping (CH) system, which has some analogy to frequency hopping systems, is described. The performance of the CH systems under single code interference, which will frequently arise in the future on consumer communications and seriously affects ...

Recent spreading codes for spread spectrum communication systems

Electronics and Communications in Japan (Part I: Communications), 1992
AbstractThis paper presents recent spreading codes and their applications to spread spectrum (SS) systems.First, co‐channel interference in spread spectrum multiple access communication systems (SSMA) and cross‐correlation functions are described, and the relationship between new “No sequences” with low cross‐correlations and other well known sequences

Interference suppression in spread spectrum systems

Proceedings of ISSSTA'95 International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications, 2002
The interference immunity of a spread spectrum digital communication system corrupted by interference can be significantly enhanced by excising the interference prior to cross correlation of the received signal with the possible transmitted reference signals. In this paper we treat methods for excising narrowband (partial band) and broadband (impulsive)

Concatenated Sequences for Spread Spectrum Systems

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1981
Concatenated sequences are suggested and developed for use in spread spectrum (SS) systems. Special receiver realization is discussed and it is shown that the concatenated sequences offer great advantage in reducing the size of the matched filter correlators (MFC) in the SS receiver. Experimental systems have been built using concatenated sequences and

Adaptive synchronization for spread spectrum systems

Proceedings of Vehicular Technology Conference - VTC, 2002
Code acquisition in direct sequence spread-spectrum systems must occur before data demodulation can start. In this paper, a new hybrid approach to code acquisition is proposed by using an adaptive filter. The proposed system tests several phases concurrently and, hence, offers fast acquisition with small hardware requirements. Moreover, the same system
