Mapping Allergen B‐ and T‐Cell Epitopes: Technological Advances and Their Role in Precision Allergy Therapy

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Allergic diseases arise from aberrant immune recognition of otherwise harmless environmental proteins and are driven by epitope‐specific interactions between allergens and the adaptive immune system. Although component‐resolved diagnostics have improved molecular characterisation of sensitization, they remain limited to whole‐allergen ...

Determinants of Poor Health‐Related Quality of Life in Patients With Food Allergy

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Machine‐learning analysis of 502 well‐characterised food‐allergic patients was used to identify key determinants of poor FA‐HRQL, defined as FAQLQ ≥ 5. The most relevant predictors were adult age, female sex, multiple food allergies, severe reactions, need for urgent care, onset before 18 years, and longer disease duration.

Microbiota Signatures in Early Life and Their Association With Food Allergy: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Food allergy (FA) is increasing worldwide, and early life may be a critical window for immune training. We systematically reviewed observational human studies linking early‐life microbiota (infant, maternal, environmental, or extraintestinal) profiled using culture‐based and/or culture‐independent methods (including sequencing‐based approaches)

Route of Allergen Immunotherapy: A Global Look Into Physicians' Motivations

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Little is known about the factors driving AIT prescription in clinical practice, including the level of personalization from patient to patient. Patient‐centred factors theoretically would favour SLIT prescription. Doctors’ knowledge, training, and country influence the final decision on the route.

Parental and Healthcare Professional Experiences of Food Allergen Introduction During Complementary Feeding: A Behavioural Theory–Informed Systematic Review

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background IgE‐mediated food allergy burdens individuals, families and healthcare systems. Randomised controlled trials indicate early introduction and regular consumption of common food allergens in infancy can reduce food allergy risk. Few studies have explored parental and healthcare professional experiences. This systematic review examines
