Efficacy and Safety of Intralymphatic Immunotherapy With Grass Allergoid and Microcrystalline Tyrosine: A Double‐Blind Randomised Placebo‐Controlled Trial

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This is the first randomised placebo‐controlled trial of intralymphatic immunotherapy using a microcrystalline tyrosine‐adjuvanted grass pollen allergoid. Three ultrasound‐guided ILIT injections were well tolerated and reduced combined symptom‐medication scores compared with placebo. The findings support further optimisation and clinical development of

Distinct Gene Expression Profiles of Ara h 2‐Specific B Cells in Desensitization and Tolerance During Peanut Oral Immunotherapy

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Gene expression of Ara h 2‐specific B cells over the course of the peanut OIT. Isotype of allergen‐specific B cells changes through OIT towards IgG4. Peanut OIT changes the gene expression of allergen‐specific memory B cells. OIT patients showed increased gene expression for regulatory B cells and immune regulation.

Influence of Environmental Pollution on Basophil Reactivity to Birch Pollen Allergens in Atopic and Non‐Atopic Subjects

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Birch pollen and PM10 are key determinants of clinical symptoms, particularly in asthma. Allergic people react stronger to the pollen collected in the highly polluted area than in the less polluted areas. When evaluating the effectiveness of allergen immunotherapy, it is essential to consider not only pollen concentrations but also levels of air ...
