Efficient Mesh for Driven Square Cavity
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010In this paper, an improved lattice Boltzmann scheme is used to simulate steady incompressible flow inside a square cavity. The newly improved scheme is applied for driven square cavity. Numerical simulations are carried out for Reynolds number equal to 5000. The governing equation used is the double‐population lattice Boltzmann formulation.

Melting of unfixed solids in square cavities
International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow, 1999Abstract A fixed-grid enthalpy method is employed to study the melting of an unfixed solid in a square cavity. The cavity is initially filled with the solid material. The walls are heated and the solid is released as a result of melting near the walls.

SIMULATION OF CELL MOTION IN THE MICROCHANNEL WITH A SQUARE CAVITY
Journal of Mechanics in Medicine and Biology, 2022Isolating circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from the blood plays an important role in the specific treatment of tumor diseases. In this study, a dissipative particle dynamics method combined with a spring-based cell model was employed to simulate the motion of a single or two cells in the microchannel with a square cavity.

Oscillations in thermocapillary convection in a square cavity
International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 1994Abstract The governing equations for momentum and energy transport have been solved for the thermocapillary flow in a differentially heated square cavity. The fluid was assumed to contain a surface active impurity such that the surface tension was a quadratic function of the temperature where the maximum surface tension occurs at the mean cavity ...

Natural convection in a partially heated square cavity with an inner square block
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2020In this paper, we steady natural convection in a discrete heat transfer and the effect of Rayleigh number in a two- dimensional square enclosure with an inner square block. The present problem taken by three different cases were containing on the partially heated which left vertical wall maintained at high temperature Th(Th > Tc).

Forced convection in a square cavity with inlet and outlet ports
International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2004A finite-volume-based computational study of steady laminar forced convection inside a square cavity with inlet and outlet ports is presented. Given a fixed position of the inlet port, the location of outlet port is varied along the four walls of the cavity. The widths of the ports are equal to 5, 15 and 25 percent of the side.

On the Closed Motion of a Fluid in a Square Cavity
The Journal of the Royal Aeronautical Society, 1965SummaryThis paper is concerned with two-dimensional, incompressible fluid motion generated within a square cavity (a) by an outer stream and (b) by the action of a flat surface passing over one of its sides. This type of motion (“cavity flow”) is considered to consist of a boundary layer surrounding an inviscid “core.” A solution of a linearised form ...
