Entropy generation in a square cavity
International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat & Fluid Flow, 2010Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to study flow over two heat generating porous blocks situated in a cavity, and examine the effects of porous blocks geometric orientations in the cavity (configurations) and the amount of heat generation in the blocks on entropy generation rate due to heat transfer and fluid flow.Design/methodology/approach – Four

Efficient Mesh for Driven Square Cavity
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010In this paper, an improved lattice Boltzmann scheme is used to simulate steady incompressible flow inside a square cavity. The newly improved scheme is applied for driven square cavity. Numerical simulations are carried out for Reynolds number equal to 5000. The governing equation used is the double‐population lattice Boltzmann formulation.

Uterine Cavity Synechiae After Hemostatic Square Suturing Technique
Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2005A number of surgical techniques to control severe bleeding at cesarean delivery have been proposed, such as uterine artery ligation, hypogastric artery ligation, and uterine compression suturing.A primigravida with severe postpartum hemorrhage and disseminated intravascular coagulopathy had multiple square sutures placed through the uterus.

Marangoni Convection in a Square Porous Cavity
International Journal of Computational Fluid Dynamics, 1998Convection may occur in different processes, which may not depend on the buoyancy force. One of these processes is due to the surface tension gradient also known as Marangoni convection. Such convection creates a strong flow leading to instability for a fluid. Porous medium consists of solid matrix with an interconnected void filled with a fluid. A new

Melting of unfixed solids in square cavities
International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow, 1999Abstract A fixed-grid enthalpy method is employed to study the melting of an unfixed solid in a square cavity. The cavity is initially filled with the solid material. The walls are heated and the solid is released as a result of melting near the walls.

Oscillatory flow inside a square cavity
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1982The flow inside a square cavity, generated by a uniform oscillatory motion of the upper cavity wall, is investigated. Numerical solutions of the full unsteady Navier–Stokes equations are computed for a selection of Reynolds’ numbers and frequency parameters in the range 0–600.
