Impact of Circular Stapler Size on Short‐Term Outcomes and Long‐Term Quality of Life After McKeown Esophagectomy

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
In this study, we investigated the impact of circular stapler size on both short‐term outcomes and long‐term QOL after McKeown esophagectomy. We revealed that short‐term outcomes, including anastomotic leakage and stenosis, did not differ between patients who underwent anastomosis with a 21 mm stapler and those with a 23 mm stapler.

Adhesive Photoinitiator Constructs Polymer Jackets on Enzymes: Direct, Release‐Free Cytosolic Delivery

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A supramolecular adhesive photoinitiator, GuCD⊃BP‐SH, overcomes a central dilemma in enzyme therapeutics. The initiator, featuring a guanidinium‐modified cyclodextrin (GuCD) host, triggers formation of a semi‐permeable polymer jacket directly on an enzyme.

Effects of front and back squat techniques on patellofemoral joint kinetics in males [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Purpose: The barbell squat is fundamental in strength and conditioning, with two principal variants; the back and front squat. Unfortunately, the propensity for injury is high particularly at the knee. The aim of the current investigation was examine the

Short‐ and Long‐Term Outcomes of Subtotal Gastrectomy for Remnant Gastric Cancer: A Multicenter Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This multicenter study compared subtotal versus completion gastrectomy for remnant gastric cancer. Subtotal gastrectomy was associated with shorter operative time and significantly less postoperative weight loss, with no difference in long‐term survival, suggesting it as a feasible surgical option without compromising oncologic outcomes.

Mild Generation of Highly Nucleophilic N‐Heterocyclic Carbene Boryl Anion From Neutral sp2–sp3 Diboron Reagents and Its Applications in Nucleophilic Borylation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A less hindered and highly nucleophilic N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) boryl anion is generated at room temperature by reacting sp2–sp3 diboron reagent (NHC)BH2Bpin with KOtBu. This highly reactive anion demonstrates broad reactivity with various electrophiles, including those traditionally considered inert, enabling their efficient borylation.
