Diagnostic performance of ELISA and PCR in identifying SRLV-infected sheep and goats using serum, plasma and milk samples and in early detection of infection in dairy flocks through bulk milk testing [PDF]
The objective of the study was to evaluate the diagnostic performances of the ELITEST-MVV ELISA for detection of antibodies against small ruminant lentiviruses and of two recently published PCRs for the detection of proviral DNA of SRLV in blood and ...

Lentiviruses from distinct animal species have in common their genomic organization, the induction of slowly progressive diseases over months or years, the large spectrum of induced symptoms and concerned organs, the frequent inapparent infection without any detectable clinical signs, their ability to persist into their hosts despite an often strong ...

A new NGS approach for SRLV full genome characterisation
2019Small Ruminant Lentiviruses (SRLV) include at least 4 viral highly divergent genotypes. Genotypes A and B are widely distributed and genotypes C and E have been recognized in restricted geographic areas. New phylogroups have been identified targeting conserved regions.
