Alloying Cu, Fe, and Co in Ni/YSZ Electrodes for High‐Temperature CO2 Electrolysis: Impact on TPB Density, Activity, and Carbon Deposition Resistance

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Systematic alloying of Ni with Cu, Fe, and Co in Ni/YSZ electrodes modifies active site density up to 43%, decreases activation energies by up to 44%, and reduces carbon deposition fourfold. Cu–Ni alloy is among the most promising alloy catalysts for electrochemical CO2 reduction in SOECs.

Fluorescent Diarylethenes With Polar Groups: Synthesis, Spectra, and Optical Microscopy Applications

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Blinking green and flashing red: photo‐switchable and photo‐activatable probes emitting green and red light were prepared and applied as bioconjugates in super‐resolution optical microscopy. ABSTRACT The use of photoactivatable fluorescent diarylethenes (fDAEs) in biology‐related light microscopy has been restricted by the lack of probes having freely ...

The strategic and governance implications of solar radiation modification: perspectives from delegates of international climate negotiations

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
The lack of progress in addressing climate change has led to increased interest in solar radiation modification (SRM)—a collection of large-scale interventions that cool the planet by managing the amount of solar radiation that reaches the earth.

A Prediction Method for the California Bearing Ratio of Soil-Rock Mixture Based on the Discrete Element Method and CT Scanning

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
Because of the large amount of gravel with particle sizes over 40 mm in the soil-rock mixture (SRM), it is impossible to determine its California Bearing Ratio (CBR) via the indoor test method, which is a key parameter for designing the backfill in ...

Green Electrochromic Film Formation via Phenylcarbazole Polymerization in Ionic Liquids

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The scheme depicts the three‐step electropolymerization of two electrochromic polycarbazole derivatives, 4‐(9H‐carbazol‐9‐yl)phenol and 4‐(3‐methoxy‐9H‐carbazol‐9‐yl)phenol, performed at constant potential using the green ionic liquid BMIM TFSI. This medium enables controlled polymer growth and enhances electrochromic performance, yielding robust and ...

FxLMS Method for Suppressing In-Wheel Switched Reluctance Motor Vertical Force Based on Vehicle Active Suspension System

open access: yesJournal of Control Science and Engineering, 2014
The vibration of SRM obtains less attention for in-wheel motor applications according to the present research works. In this paper, the vertical component of SRM unbalanced radial force, which is named as SRM vertical force, is taken into account in ...

Analysis of Switched Reluctance Motor Behavior under Electrical Fault Conditions

open access: yesCommunications, 2013
This paper deals with analysis of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) behavior under fault conditions. The static parameters of the healthy SRM and SRM with defined faults of phases are investigated by Finite Element Method (FEM). These static parameters are

Random forest regression for catalyst performance prediction and validation of tri‐reforming of methane (TRM)

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Carbon dioxide‐reduced hydrogen can be synthesized through various methods such as dry‐reforming (DRM), steam reforming (SMR), and partial oxidation (POX). Tri‐reforming of methane (TRM) is a promising technology which combines all the above‐mentioned processes for the simultaneous production of hydrogen and syngas with high energy efficiency.
