Optical Signature of Moiré Superlattices Formed by Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We discover optical signatures from bonded interfaces in twisted SrTiO3 moiré superlattices, including low‐frequency Raman vibrational modes and strong second‐harmonic generation, consistent with strong interlayer coupling inferred from cross‐sectional electron microscopy and ab initio calculations. ABSTRACT Moiré superlattices formed at the interfaces

Correlated Metal LaNiO3 as a p‐Type Transparent Conductor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
p‐type transparent conducting oxides are needed to enable superstrate solar cell geometries with n‐type absorbers. The p‐type correlated metal LaNiO3 combines high optical transmission with low electrical resistivity and is compatible with a range of scalable deposition processes.

Synthesis and Structure of an Ion‐Exchanged SrTiO3 Photocatalyst with Improved Reactivity for Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, 2023
BaTiO3 heated in an excess of SrCl2 at 1150 °C converts to SrTiO3 through an ion exchange reaction. The SrTiO3 synthesized by ion exchange produces hydrogen from pH 7 water at a rate more than twice that of conventional SrTiO3 treated identically.

Periodic lateral superlattice in bonded SrTiO3/SrTiO3 twisted perovskites

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters
Stacking of freestanding membranes enables the formation of interfaces beyond what can be obtained with classical heteroepitaxy. In particular, twisted interfaces provide unique physical properties not existent in the corresponding individual layers.

Operando Tracking of Oxygen‐Vacancy Dynamics and Negative Capacitance in Ca‐Doped BiFeO3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Operando electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, combined with electrocoloration, enables a direct correlation between real‐space ionic redistribution and the corresponding frequency‐domain electrical response. In lateral Ca‐doped BiFeO3 devices, time‐resolved impedance snapshots capture the evolution from bulk‐dominated mixed conduction to an ...

Ameliorating and Tailoring the Morphological and Optical Properties of PEO-MnO2-SrTiO3 Solid State Nanocomposites for Electronics Fields

open access: yesФізика і хімія твердого тіла
In this work, polymer nanocomposites films of (PEO-MnO2-SrTiO3) were manufactured using the casting method, where varying percentages of nanoparticles (MnO2-SrTiO3) were mixed at concentrations of 1.7%, 3.4%, and 5.1%, respectively. The morphological and

Hopping Transport in SrTiO3/Nd1-xTiO3/SrTiO3 Heterostructures

open access: yes, 2018
Electronic transport near the insulator-metal transition is investigated in the molecular beam epitaxy-grown SrTiO3/Nd1-xTiO3/SrTiO3 heterostructures using temperature dependent magnetotransport measurements. It was found that Nd-vacancies introduce localized electronic states resulting in the variable range hopping transport at low temperatures.

Domain Engineering and Anisotropic Domain‐Wall Photovoltaic Effects in Ferroelectric SnS

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The bulk photovoltaic effect at domain walls in the in‐plane ferroelectric 2D semiconductor SnS is investigated using periodic domain structures. Unlike conventional oxide ferroelectrics, domain walls of SnS do not contribute to photocurrent generation perpendicular to the domain walls.
