Electron Accumulation and Emergent Magnetism in LaMnO3/SrTiO3 Heterostructures

open access: yes, 2017
Emergent phenomena at polar-nonpolar oxide interfaces have been studied intensely in pursuit of next-generation oxide electronics and spintronics. Here we report the disentanglement of critical thicknesses for electron reconstruction and the emergence of

Omnipolar Magnetic Field Detection by Superlattice‐Based Hall Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐induced electronic switching is demonstrated in unit‐cell‐engineered La0.7Sr0.3MnO3–BiFeO3 superlattices. Distinct substrate terminations modify magnetic and transport properties. Hall resistance measurements show omnipolar, hysteretic anomalous Hall switching above the Curie temperature, arising from Fe─Mn interfacial exchange, enabling

Synthesis and Structure of an Ion‐Exchanged SrTiO3 Photocatalyst with Improved Reactivity for Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, 2023
BaTiO3 heated in an excess of SrCl2 at 1150 °C converts to SrTiO3 through an ion exchange reaction. The SrTiO3 synthesized by ion exchange produces hydrogen from pH 7 water at a rate more than twice that of conventional SrTiO3 treated identically.

Coexistance of giant tunneling electroresistance and magnetoresistance in an all-oxide magnetic tunnel junction

open access: yes, 2012
We demonstrate with first-principles electron transport calculations that large tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) and tunneling electroresistance (TER) effects can coexist in an all-oxide device. The TMR originates from the symmetry-driven spin filtering

Long-range electronic reconstruction to a $d_{xz,yz}$-dominated Fermi surface below the LaAlO$_3$/SrTiO$_3$ interface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Low dimensionality, broken symmetry and easily-modulated carrier concentrations provoke novel electronic phase emergence at oxide interfaces. However, the spatial extent of such reconstructions - i.e. the interfacial "depth" - remains unclear.

Role of Liquid Composition in the Transient Liquid Assisted Growth of Superconducting YBa2Cu3O7‐δ Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The Y supersaturation in the [Ba‐Cu(I/II)‐O] transient liquid composition is the driving force toward YBCO nucleation and growth in TLAG. Tuning the initial (Ba:Cu) molar ratio in the ink composition determines the YBCO epitaxial nucleation through supersaturation control.

Ameliorating and Tuning the Microstructure and Optical Features of PMMA/PS/SrTiO3 Solid State Nanocomposites For Flexible Optoelectronics Applications

open access: yesФізика і хімія твердого тіла
Poly-methylmethacrylate (PMMA)-polystyrene (PS) blend doped with strontium titanate (SrTiO3) nanocomposites have been fabricated for optical and optoelectronics applications. The films (PMMA-PS/SrTiO3) were produced using the casting process.

Electronic properties and surface reactivity of SrO-terminated SrTiO3 and SrO-terminated iron-doped SrTiO3

open access: yesScience and Technology of Advanced Materials, 2018
Surface reactivity and near-surface electronic properties of SrO-terminated SrTiO3 and iron doped SrTiO3 were studied with first principle methods. We have investigated the density of states (DOS) of bulk SrTiO3 and compared it to DOS of iron-doped ...

Electronic Structure and Superconductivity of FeSe-Related Superconductors

open access: yes, 2015
The FeSe superconductor and its related systems have attracted much attention in the iron-based superconductors owing to their simple crystal structure and peculiar electronic and physical properties.

Flexoelectrically Induced Polar Topology in Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Twisted SrTiO3 bilayers host polar vortices of flexoelectric origin, revealed through combined experiment and theory. By reconstructing polarization from the toroidal moment of strain gradients, the work establishes a 3D chiral state with broken inversion and mirror symmetries.
