SSSC switching functions model

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2006
This letter proposes a static synchronous series compensator switching functions model based on a 48-pulse voltage-source inverter in abc coordinates. The effectiveness and accuracy of the model are validated against simulations carried out in the professional computer program PSCAD/EMTDC.

Multipulse VSC based SSSC

2008 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting - Conversion and Delivery of Electrical Energy in the 21st Century, 2008
The aim of this paper is to cover a comprehensive set of topics in order to contribute to the study of multipulse voltage sourced converter (VSC) based static synchronous series compensator (SSSC). The topics covered consist of full topology analysis as well as its voltages and currents, detailed modeling and laboratory implementation.

SSSC's Adaptive Neural Control

The 2006 IEEE International Joint Conference on Neural Network Proceedings, 2006
The aim of this paper is to present the control of a solid-state series compensator (SSSC) by a B-spline neural network (NN) in order to regulate the active power flow on a transmission line. Such control drives the phase of the series source to the desired value so as to achieve the reference power flow.

VSC-HVDC Station With SSSC Characteristics

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2004
Commercial installations of voltage-source converter-high voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) are now in service as asynchronous link and as underwater/underground DC transmission. The research reported in his paper is directed to providing VSC-HVDC with synchronizing power and damping power so that after a transient the steady-state is reached in ...
