Including orbital fluctuations in the noise spectrum of autonomous circuits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We discuss the impact of orbital fluctuations on the noise spectrum of a free-running oscillator, exploiting a rigorous nonlinear perturbative analysis based on the Floquet theory, and providing evidence of its relevance for high-Q oscillators.

The Stochastic Stability of Internal HIV Models with Gaussian White Noise and Gaussian Colored Noise

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2019
In this paper, the stochastic stability of internal HIV models driven by Gaussian white noise and Gaussian colored noise is analyzed. First, the stability of deterministic models is investigated.

Performance Enhancement of Methane Detection Using a Novel Self-Adaptive Mid-Infrared Absorption Spectroscopy Technique

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
An electrical-domain self-adaptive mid-infrared absorption spectroscopy for methane detection based on an interband cascade laser was demonstrated. By adding noise into the laser drive signal, denoising and sensing performances were evaluated for the ...

Robust optimality of Gaussian noise stability [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Mathematical Society, 2015
We prove that under the Gaussian measure, half-spaces are uniquely the most noise stable sets. We also prove a quantitative version of uniqueness, showing that a set which is almost optimally noise stable must be close to a half-space. This extends a theorem of Borell, who proved the same result but without uniqueness, and it also answers a question of

DTI denoising for data with low signal to noise ratios [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Low signal to noise ratio (SNR) experiments in diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) give key information about tracking and anisotropy, e. g., by measurements with small voxel sizes or with high b values.

Laboratory Test of a Vehicle Active Noise-Control System Based on an Adaptive Step Size Algorithm

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) is a key factor affecting vehicle comfort. Compared with traditional sound absorption and isolation methods, active noise control (ANC) offers a significant advantage in solving the problem of low- and medium ...

Stabilisation and destabilisation of nonlinear differential equations by noise

open access: yes, 2008
This paper considers the stabilisation and destabilisa- tion by a Brownian noise perturbation which preserves the equilibrium of the ordinary dierential equation x0(t) = f(x(t)).

Noise stability and correlation with half spaces

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Probability, 2018
Benjamini, Kalai and Schramm showed that a monotone function $f : \{-1,1\}^n \to \{-1,1\}$ is noise stable if and only if it is correlated with a half-space (a set of the form $\{x: \langle x, a\rangle \le b\}$). We study noise stability in terms of correlation with half-spaces for general (not necessarily monotone) functions.

Cyclin G and the Polycomb Repressive complexes PRC1 and PR-DUB cooperate for developmental stability. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2018
In Drosophila, ubiquitous expression of a short Cyclin G isoform generates extreme developmental noise estimated by fluctuating asymmetry (FA), providing a model to tackle developmental stability.

Noise-Induced Stabilization in Population Dynamics

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2011
We investigate a model where strong noise in a sub-population creates a metastable state in an otherwise unstable two-population system. The induced metastable state is vortex-like, and its persistence time grows exponentially with the noise strength.
