Stability of Finite Receding Horizon Control: A Complementary Approach [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
This paper presents a complementary approach to establish stability of finite receding horizon control with a terminal cost. First a new augmented stage cost is defined by rotating the terminal cost. Then a one-step optimisation problem is defined based on this augmented stage cost.

Study on stability and scalability of vehicular platoon with a bidirectional ring interconnection

open access: yesIET Intelligent Transport Systems, 2021
This paper studies the stability and scalability of the platoon where multiple vehicles move in a closed roadway and are coupled in a bidirectional ring. Each vehicle regulates its longitudinal motion based on bidirectional asymmetric control with triple

Stability of Multi-Microgrids: New Certificates, Distributed Control, and Braess's Paradox [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
This paper investigates the theory of resilience and stability in multi-microgrid networks. We derive new sufficient conditions to guarantee small-signal stability of multi-microgrids in both lossless and lossy networks. The new stability certificate for lossy networks only requires local information, thus leads to a fully distributed control scheme ...

Stability Analysis of Nonlinear Time-Varying Systems by Lyapunov Functions with Indefinite Derivatives [PDF]

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 11(9): 1434-1442 (2017), 2015
This paper is concerned with stability analysis of nonlinear time-varying systems by using Lyapunov function based approach. The classical Lyapunov stability theorems are generalized in the sense that the time-derivative of the Lyapunov functions are allowed to be indefinite.

Synchronisation of multiple neural networks via event‐triggered time‐varying delay hybrid impulsive control

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
This article discusses the exponential synchronisation problem for multiple neural networks with time‐varying delay and a more general non‐Laplacian coupling matrix is considered.

Neural Stochastic Control [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Control problems are always challenging since they arise from the real-world systems where stochasticity and randomness are of ubiquitous presence. This naturally and urgently calls for developing efficient neural control policies for stabilizing not only the deterministic equations but the stochastic systems as well.

Delayed output feedback based leader–follower and leaderless consensus control of uncertain multiagent systems

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
This paper proposes a distributed artificially delayed output feedback‐based leader–follower and leaderless consensus control for the uncertain general linear multiagent systems (MASs) with an arbitrary relative degree.

Stability Analysis of a Feedback-linearization-based Controller with Saturation: A Tilt Vehicle with the Penguin-inspired Gait Plan [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Saturations in control signal can challenge the stability proof of a feedback-linearization-based controller, even leading the system unstable [1]. Thus, several approaches are established to avoid reaching the saturation bound [2,3]. Meanwhile, to help design the controller for a quad-tilt-rotor, [1] modeled a tilt vehicle with implementing the ...

New results in subspace‐stabilization control theory [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 1999
Subspace‐stabilization is a generalization of the classical idea of stabilizing motions of a dynamical system to an equilibrium state. The concept of subspace‐stabilization and a theory for designing subspace‐stabilizing control laws was introduced in a previously published paper.
