ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Continuous Uniform Finite Time Stabilization of Planar Controllable Systems [PDF]
Continuous homogeneous controllers are utilized in a full state feedback setting for the uniform finite time stabilization of a perturbed double integrator in the presence of uniformly decaying piecewise continuous disturbances.

To "stabilize'' or not to "stabilize"?
The controversial question of whether or not an atom will be completely ionized by a laser pulse of arbitrarily increasing intensity is discussed.

ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Combined Stabilization of Clay Using Lime and PVCFibers
Reinforcing soil for foundations or embankments is crucial for ensuring structural stability and longevity. Many methods are used in Geotechnics to reinforce soils, which can be broadly categorized into chemical processes and mechanical approaches ...

RCP4.5: a pathway for stabilization of radiative forcing by 2100
Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 4.5 is a scenario that stabilizes radiative forcing at 4.5 W m−2 in the year 2100 without ever exceeding that value.

Review of combustion stabilization for hypersonic airbreathing propulsion
A review of fundamental research in combustion stabilization for hypersonic airbreathing propulsion is presented. Combustion in high-speed airbreathing propulsion systems demands stable flame distribution and chemical reaction to provide reliable thrust ...

Positively weighted graphs have a natural intrinsic metric. We consider finite, positively weighted graphs with a positive lower bound for their minimal weights and show that any two such graphs, which are close enough with respect to the Gromov-Hausdorff metric, are equivalent as graphs.

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...
