Victimization Experiences and the Stabilization of Victim Sensitivity

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2015
People reliably differ in the extent to which they are sensitive to being victimized by others. Importantly, victim sensitivity predicts how people behave in social dilemma situations: Victim-sensitive individuals are less likely to trust others and more

OnD-stability andB-stability

open access: yesNumerische Mathematik, 1983
In this paper theD-stability properties of some classes of perturbed collocation methods are investigated. Among others we show the implicit Runge-Kutta methods described by Ehle-Chipman to beD-stable. We also give implicit Runge-Kutta methods that are bothD-stable andA-stable but notB-stable.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Nitrogen Availability Level Controlling the Translocation and Stabilization of Maize Residue Nitrogen in Soil Matrix

open access: yesAgriculture
Crop residue returning to field inputs considerable nitrogen (N) into soils, which greatly influences the function and sustainability of the agricultural system.

A Modular Regularized Variational Multiscale Proper Orthogonal Decomposition for Incompressible Flows

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we propose, analyze and test a post-processing implementation of a projection-based variational multiscale (VMS) method with proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Exponential Stabilization of Linear Time-Varying Differential Equations with Uncertain Coefficients by Linear Stationary Feedback

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
We consider a control system defined by a linear time-varying differential equation of n-th order with uncertain bounded coefficients. The problem of exponential stabilization of the system with an arbitrary given decay rate by linear static state or ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Stabilizing Perovskite Solar Cells by Methyltriphenylphosphonium Iodide Studied with Maximum Power Point Tracking

open access: yesCrystals
The use of organic halide salts to passivate metal halide perovskite (MHP) surface defects has been studied extensively. Passivating the surface defects of the MHP is of critical importance for realizing highly efficient and stable perovskite solar cells
