The boiled juice of Stachytarpheta cayennensis, Verbenaceae, whole plant material is used ethnomedicinally in different countries of Latin-America to treat symptoms of malaria. In the ethyl acetate extract, five phenylethanoid glycosides could be identified.

Most of snake venoms produce intense local tissue damage, which could lead to temporary or permanent disability in victims.
