Unsteady flow at a stagnation point
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1993The flow at an axisymmetric stagnation point is considered when the outer, inviscid flow is oscillatory with zero mean. It is shown that following the commencement of the flow at an initial instant there is a breakdown of the solution, after a finite time, as fluid erupts from the boundary at the stagnation point.

Unsteady axisymmetric stagnation point flow
Fluid Dynamics Research, 1992The unsteady axisymmetric case of a three-dimensional stagnation flow is investigated. The incompressible potential flow far away from the stagnation point oscillates about a constant mean value. Using perturbation methods, an analytical solution of the problem is obtained for the extreme cases of low and high oscillation frequencies.
