A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Receptor-Mediated SPION Labeling of CD4+ T Cells for Longitudinal MRI Tracking of Distribution Following Systemic Injection in Mouse

open access: yesNanomaterials
Tracking T cells in vivo using MRI is a major challenge due to the difficulty of labeling these non-phagocytic cells with a sufficient contrast agent to generate a detectable signal change.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

To explore the targeting of toluidine blue: low molecular dextran-40 to the lymphatic system and its effect assessment

open access: yesScientific Reports
To investigate the targeting effect of toluidine blue-dextran-40 (TB-Dex-40) on the head and neck lymphatic system. Thirty healthy adult New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into two groups: the experimental group (TB-Dex-40 group, n = 15) and

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Characterizing the zebrafish organizer: microsurgical analysis at the early-shield stage [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The appearance of the embryonic shield, a slight thickening at the leading edge of the blastoderm during the formation of the germ ring, is one of the first signs of dorsoventral polarity in the zebrafish embryo.

Identification of functional murine mitochondrial formyl peptides and their effects on myeloid‐derived suppressor cell generation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...

Active sulforhodamine 101 uptake into hippocampal astrocytes.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Sulforhodamine 101 (SR101) is widely used as a marker of astrocytes. In this study we investigated labeling of astrocytes by SR101 in acute slices from the ventrolateral medulla and the hippocampus of transgenic mice expressing EGFP under the control of ...

Label-Free Evaluation of Lung and Heart Transplant Biopsies Using Tissue Autofluorescence-Based Virtual Staining

open access: yesBME Frontiers
Objective and Impact Statement: We present a panel of virtual staining neural networks for lung and heart transplant biopsies, providing rapid and high-quality histological staining results while bypassing the traditional histochemical staining process.
