We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Adaptive minimum symbol error rate beamforming assisted detection for quadrature amplitude modulation [PDF]
—We consider beamforming assisted detection for multiple antenna aided multiuser systems that employ the bandwidth efficient quadrature amplitude modulation scheme.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

On the Warnock-Halton quasi-standard error [PDF]
This paper investigates an error estimate proposed by Warnock and studied by Halton (2005). That error estimate is simply the sample standard error applied to certain non-randomized quasi-Monte Carlo points. This quasi-standard error (QSE) closely tracks

Standard Error Estimation in Invariance Alignment
The invariance alignment (IA) method enables group comparisons in factor models involving either continuous or discrete items. This article evaluates the performance of the commonly used delta method for standard error estimation against alternative ...

Robust Standard Error Estimators for Panel Models: A Unifying Approach
The different robust estimators for the standard errors of panel models used in applied econometric practice can all be written and computed as combinations of the same simple building blocks.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
