Late multiple organ surge in interferon-regulated target genes characterizes staphylococcal enterotoxin B lethality. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Bacterial superantigens are virulence factors that cause toxic shock syndrome. Here, the genome-wide, temporal response of mice to lethal intranasal staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB) challenge was investigated in six tissues.

Rapid Quantitative Serological Assay of Staphylococcal Enterotoxin B [PDF]
A simple, rapid method, based on the Oudin single diffusion technique, is described for the quantitative assay of staphylococcal enterotoxin B. The method yields reproducible results without close control of such assay variables as temperature, antiserum dilution, and assay time, provided that the ionic strength is maintained above 0.2

ABSTRACT Waterborne diseases and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) pose mounting public health threats across sub‐Saharan Africa, particularly in rapidly urbanising regions dependent on untreated or poorly treated surface waters. This study applied shotgun metagenomic sequencing to characterise microbial communities, virulence factors and antibiotic ...

ABSTRACT Introduction The emergence of methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus species (MRS) poses a growing threat to both human and veterinary health. Methods We performed a comparative genomic characterisation of 49 methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus isolates collected from humans, dogs, and cats in a veterinary hospital from Central Chile.

Factors Affecting the Regulation of Staphylococcal Enterotoxin B [PDF]
Several factors which regulate the synthesis of enterotoxin B were examined in Staphylococcus aureus S-6 and in its heme-requiring mutant S-6H2. The kinetics of enterotoxin B synthesis during anaerobic growth were identical to those observed under aerobic conditions; extracellular enterotoxin accumulated in the ...

Apple juice was prepared and treated using Lactococcus lactis fermentation combined with nisin‐assisted ohmic heating (60 V, 30 s). The combined treatment achieved complete inactivation of Bacillus cereus. This approach preserves juice quality while providing an energy‐efficient and sustainable processing method. ABSTRACT There is increasing demand for
