Urinary tract infection with Staphylococcus saprophyticus
Journal of Adolescent Health Care, 1986A case of urinary tract infection with Staphylococcus saprophyticus is presented. This gram-positive organism can cause urethral symptomatology in males and females without history of catheterization or urinary tract abnormality. Evidence suggests that S. saprophyticus is a cause of sexually transmitted urethritis.

Antibody‐Coating and Haemagglutination by Staphylococcus Saprophyticus
Acta Pathologica Microbiologica Scandinavica Series B: Microbiology, 1985Cocci coated with IgG, IgA and IgM occurred in 21, 20 and 9 of 28 urine specimens, respectively, containing Staphylococcus saprophyticus. Staphylococcus saprophyticus found to be a common contaminant of food
Journal of Infection, 1990The mode of transmission of Staphylococcus saprophyticus, a urinary tract pathogen, was investigated in three related studies. The presence of this organism was sought, during a period of 1 year, in 1331 specimens of various foods, in 920 beef and pork carcasses and on 107 cultures which had been inoculated directly from abattoir workers' protective ...

l-Proline nutrition and catabolism in Staphylococcus saprophyticus
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 2011Staphylococcus saprophyticus strains ATCC 15305, ATCC 35552, and ATCC 49907 were found to require L-proline but not L-arginine for growth in a defined culture medium. All three strains could utilize L-ornithine as a proline source and contained L-ornithine aminotransferase and Δ(1)-pyrroline-5-carboxylate reductase activities; strains ATCC 35552 and ...
