Deoxyribonucleic acid relatedness amongst staphylococcus epidermidis and staphylococcus saprophyticus strains

Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, Mikrobiologie und Hygiene. Series A: Medical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, Virology, Parasitology, 1988
The degree of binding was determined between DNA preparations from 65 staphylococci representing cluster defined in a numerical phenetic survey and 3H-labelled DNA from reference strains of S. epidermidis, S. haemolyticus, S. hominis, S. saprophyticus and S. warneri.

["Staphylococcus saprophyticus": a little known Staphylococcus (author's transl)].

Annali Sclavo; rivista di microbiologia e di immunologia, 1981
Enzymatic patterns, antibiotic sensitivity, penicillinase, production, mercury ion resistance have been studied in St. saprophyticus strains in comparison with St. epidermidis, both isolate from urinary infections of hospital patients. The St. saprophyticus has shown to have a lower number of virulence factors, to be more sensitive to antibiotics and ...

[Role of Staphylococcus saprophyticus in urinary infections].

Polski tygodnik lekarski (Warsaw, Poland : 1960), 1993
A proportion of S. saprophyticus in other coagulase-negative staphylococcal isolates from the urine of patients with urinary infections and healthy individuals has been investigated. Certain diagnostic aspect of the urinary infections with S. saprophyticus have also been considered.

Role of Staphylococcus saprophyticus in human infection.

Acta microbiologica Polonica, 1991
Biological properties of Staphylococcus saprophyticus strains isolated from urinary tract infection and respiratory tract secretions were investigated. The majority of S. saprophyticus strains exhibit moderate surface hydrophobic properties, as measured by Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography. There was no significant difference between two groups of
