A Catalog of Nearby Accelerating Star Candidates in Gaia DR3
We describe a new catalog of accelerating star candidates with Gaia G ≤ 17.5 mag and distances d ≤ 100 pc. Designated as the Gaia Nearby Accelerating Star Catalog (GNASC), it contains 29,684 members identified using a supervised machine-learning ...

USNO Bright Star Catalog, Version 1
Abstract The USNO Bright Star Catalog (UBSC) is a new astrometric catalog of the 1423 brightest stars covering the entire sky, which is published online. It is nearly complete to V = 3 mag except for three stellar systems. A combined astrometric solution of the Hipparcos Intermediate Astrometry Data and two dedicated ground-based ...

Fast Access for Star Catalog Based on Locality-Sensitive Hashing [PDF]
In order to improve the access speed and robustness of star catalog database during star identification, an algorithm based on locality-sensitive hashing is proposed.

Precision Vs. Accuracy in Star Catalogs [PDF]
As better precision is achieved and more sophisticated reduction methods are created previously invisible biases surface. This has been especially true in astrometric Schmidt plate work. The problem of their amelioration is not fully solved and precision per se is meaningless in the presence of poor accuracy of comparable amplitude.

A Novel Inertial-Aided Star Pattern Matching Method for Distributed Multiple FoVs
An aerospace vehicle in high-speed flight involves distributed multiple fields of view (FoVs) of a star sensor, and the maneuvering of the vehicle requires inertial-aided star pattern matching.

A Catalog Of Reference Stars For New Reductions Of The Astrographic Catalog Plates [PDF]
A high density reference star catalog is being compiled at the U. S. Naval Observatory for the purpose of making new reductions of the Astrographic Catalog. The catalog will be a replacement to the SAO catalog and will be derived from the large photographic catalogs and the modern meridian circle catalogs.

A Star Catalog for the Open Cluster NGC 188 [PDF]
We present new BVRI broad-band photometry for the old open cluster NGC188 based upon analysis of 299 CCD images either obtained by us, donated by colleagues, or retrieved from public archives. We compare our results on a star-by-star basis with data from eleven previous photometric investigations of the cluster.

Redshift distribution of gamma-ray bursts and star formation rate [PDF]
Aims. The redshift distribution of gamma-ray bursts collected in the BATSE Catalog is compared with the star formation rate.We aim to clarify the accordance between them. We also study the case of comoving number density of bursts monotonously increasing

Orbital Elements of visual binary stars with very short arcs: With application to double stars from the 1829 southern double star catalog of James Dunlop [PDF]
Binary double stars are those whose binding energies are less than zero. Obtaining binary star orbits from short arcs has been a long-standing problem in astrophysics.
