Untargeted Metabolomics Coupled With Machine Learning Unravels Crop‐Specific Versus Generalized Effects of Biostimulants in Cucumber, Pepper, and Tomato

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 178, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT In recent years, agricultural practices have shifted toward sustainability, aiming to reduce the use of agrochemicals and rely more on bio‐based solutions. However, the effectiveness of these latter suffers from inconsistency. Understanding how different crops respond to biostimulants, instead of referring to a specific trial or crop, is a ...

Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 19, 2 April 2026.
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...

Star Imager For Nanosatellite Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This research examines the feasibility of Commercial-off-the-shelf Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor image sensors for use on nanosatellites as a star imager. An emphasis is placed on method selection and implementation of the star imager algorithm:

Star Position Estimation Improvements for Accurate Star Tracker Attitude Estimation

open access: yes, 2015
This paper presents several methods to improve the estimation of the star positions in a star tracker, using a Kalman Filter. The accuracy with which the star positions can be estimated greatly influences the accuracy of the star tracker attitude ...

Stars’ Centroid Determination Using PSF-Fitting Method

open access: yesMetrology and Measurement Systems, 2015
AbstractThis paper presents an algorithm for restoring telescope images corrupted by turbulence effects and readout noise of a telescope system in order to determine centroid positions of stars, especially the position of a reference star. A computation method employing an accurate centroid estimation algorithm reconstructing apoint spread function(PSF)

High‐Resolution Ion Mobility as an Alternative to Quadrupole‐Based Precursor Isolation for Reducing Chimeric Fragmentation Spectra in Bottom‐Up Proteomics

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, Volume 26, Issue 4, Page 36-48, April 2026.
ABSTRACT To assess the potential for high resolution ion mobility (HRIM) as an alternative means of precursor isolation for mass spectrometry fragmentation analysis we performed a meta‐analysis of predicted tryptic peptide features from the human proteome to measure the rate of chimeric spectrum generation relative to traditional quadrupole‐based ...

LaueMatching: an approach for rapid and robust indexing of Laue diffraction patterns

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 59, Issue 2, Page 552-563, April 2026.
This paper introduces LaueMatching, a rapid and robust algorithm for indexing Laue diffraction patterns using a pre‐computed simulation library. It employs pattern‐correlation matching, overcoming challenges like weak signals, missing peaks and highly distorted peaks from complex microstructures which are often faced by traditional peak‐finding methods.

Phytochemical diversity of naturally regenerated plants in a biodiversity enrichment experiment

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 3, March 2026.
Tree islands established within an industrial oil palm plantation promoted the recovery of phytochemical diversity through natural regeneration. Ten years after planting, untargeted metabolomics of 76 regenerating woody species detected 27,122 phytochemical features, including many novel compounds. Larger islands supported higher woody species richness

Enhancing Chimeric Fragmentation Spectra Deconvolution Using Direct Infusion–Tandem Mass Spectrometry Across High‐Resolution Mass Spectrometric Platforms

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Volume 40, Issue 3, 15 February 2026.
ABSTRACT Rationale Direct infusion mass spectrometry (DI‐MS) is a rapid analytical technique widely used in omics research and other fields. However, the complexity of DI‐MS spectra frequently leads to co‐fragmentation of analytes with similar m/z, resulting in chimeric fragmentation spectra that complicate compound identification.
