Spectroscopic and physical parameters of Galactic O-type stars. II. Observational constraints on projected rotational and extra broadening velocities as a function of fundamental parameters and stellar evolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Rotation is of key importance for the evolution of hot massive stars, however, the rotational velocities of these stars are difficult to determine. Based on our own data for 31 Galactic O stars and incorporating similar data for 86 OB supergiants from ...

Fundamental Parameters of the Underlying Be Stars (Review Paper) [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1987
AbstractThe various methods for determining masses, radii, luminosities, effective temperatures, spectral types, and rotational velocities of the underlying Be stars are reviewed, and representative values listed for each.

Fundamental parameters of 16 late-type stars derived from their angular diameter measured with VLTI/AMBER ? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Thanks to their large angular dimension and brightness, red giants and supergiants are privileged targets for optical long-baseline interferometers. 16 red giants and supergiants have been observed with the VLTI/AMBER facility over a 2-year period, at ...

Blazhko effect in the Galactic bulge fundamental mode RR Lyrae stars – II. Modulation shapes, amplitudes, and periods [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2020
The number of stars observed by the Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE) project in the Galactic bulge offers an invaluable chance to study RR Lyrae stars in a statistical manner.

Fundamental Parameters of 10 Ap-Stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Представлен результат самосогласованного анализа спектров высокого разрешения для 10 Aр-звезд в диапазоне эффективных температур 7 000—11 000 К. Получены фундаментальные параметры звезд, определен химический состав их атмосфер и оценена стратификация ...

Fundamental Parameters : Normal A0 Dwarf Stars of the Solar Neighbourhood [PDF]

open access: yesHighlights of Astronomy, 1998
The purpose of this paper is to define a set of “standard”, “reference” or “comparison” stars, according to their use, of spectral type A0V in order to be used for further studies in the domain of peculiar stars as well as normal stars of thisTeffand luminosity range.

Time Toxicity in Wilms Tumor: Quantifying the Burden of Healthcare Interaction in the First Year After Diagnosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

Fundamental M-dwarf parameters from high-resolution spectra using PHOENIX ACES models: I. Parameter accuracy and benchmark stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
M-dwarf stars are the most numerous stars in the Universe; they span a wide range in mass and are in the focus of ongoing and planned exoplanet surveys.

Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...

The radius and other fundamental parameters of the F9 V star β Virginis [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2009
We have used the Sydney University Stellar Interferometer (SUSI) to measure the angular diameter of the F9 V star beta Virginis. After correcting for limb darkening and combining with the revised Hipparcos parallax, we derive a radius of 1.703 +/- 0.022 R_sun (1.3%).
