Superfluidity in the Interiors of Neutron Stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
I review some of the ideas that have been proposed for the structure of neutron star interiors, and concentrate on the theoretical arguments for the existence of superfluidity in neutron stars. I also discuss the implications of neutron superfluidity and proton superconductivity for the rotational dynamics of pulsars, and review arguments that have ...

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

PRISMA: A mission to study interior and surface of stars [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1994
AbstractNew technics such as asteroseismology are able to sound the deep interior of stars and to provide the data that will constrain the modelisation of the core. This information will be combined with data collected from the stellar surface which give direct access to measurements of the radiative losses, angular momentum losses and distribution of ...

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

New Wolf-Rayet wind yields and nucleosynthesis of Helium stars [PDF]

open access: yes
Strong metallicity-dependent winds dominate the evolution of core He-burning, classical Wolf–Rayet (cWR) stars, which eject both H and He-fusion products such as $^{14}$N, $^{12}$C, $^{16}$O, $^{19}$F, $^{22}$Ne, and $^{23}$Na during their evolution. The

Convection and Differential Rotation in F-Type Stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
International audienceDifferential rotation is a common feature of main-sequence spectral F-type stars. In seeking to make contact with observations and to provide a self-consistent picture of how differential rotation is achieved in the interiors of ...

The age and interior rotation of stars from asteroseismology [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, 2015
AbstractWe provide a status report on the determination of stellar ages from asteroseismology for stars of various masses and evolutionary stages. The ability to deduce the ages of stars with a relative precision of typically 10 to 20% is a unique opportunity for stellar evolution and also of great value for both galactic and exoplanet studies. Further,

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Models of AGB Stars and their Nucleosynthesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The occurrence of recursive thermonuclear runaways makes the computation of AGB evolutionary sequences and the related nucleosynthesis a challenging task for stellar modelers.
