Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Stage-Specific Drivers of Startup Ambidexterity
This paper considers the impact of ambidexterity, consisting of the relationship between exploration and exploitation, on the development of start-ups. The main goal of the study is to determine the importance of ambidexterity’s critical success factors

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Development of statistical framework to evaluate the features of innovative start-ups in Ukraine
Governments of the leading countries, recognized that start-ups (from the English "start-up" - start) are the engines of innovative development of economy and making efforts, on the one hand, to create these basic conditions; on the other - to implement ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Experimental investigation of hydrogen production performance of PEM electrolyze
As global awareness of environmental protection increases, hydrogen is seen as a promising solution due to its high energy density and zero-emission combustion. The PEM electrolyze combined with renewable energy power generation is an effective method to
