This article proposes a battery‐based hybrid power flow controller (B‐HPFC), offering enhanced flexibility for power flow regulation and energy storage. First, the structure of B‐HPFC is given, where the cascaded H‐Bridge (CHB) is integrated with the phase‐shifting transformer (PST). The batteries are connected to the modules of CHB.

Optimal Location and Sizing of Static Var Compensator (SVC) to Improve Voltage Profile in Distribution Network

Optimized placement of SVC in a 33‐bus distribution system improves voltage profile, increasing the voltage profile from 94.69% to 97.90%, ensuring voltages remain within acceptable limits (0.95–1.05 p.u.) using optimal capacitor sizing and location, enhancing system reliability and power quality.
