Shil'nikov Chaos control using Homoclinic orbits and the Newhouse region

open access: yes, 2006
A method of controlling Shil'nikov's type chaos using windows that appear in the 1 dimensional bifurcation diagram when perturbations are applied, and using existence of stable homoclinic orbits near the unstable one is presented and applied to the ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Eigenstructure Assignment by State-derivative and Partial Output-derivative Feedback for Linear Time-invariant Control Systems

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2004
This paper introduces a parametric approach for solving the problem of eigenstructure assignment via state-derivative feedback for linear control time-invariant systems. This problem is always solvable for any controllable systems if the open-loop system

Less Conservative Control Design for Linear Systems with Polytopic Uncertainties via State‐Derivative Feedback [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 2012
The motivation for the use of state‐derivative feedback instead of conventional state feedback is due to its easy implementation in some mechanical applications, for example, in vibration control of mechanical systems, where accelerometers have been used to measure the system state.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Control and State Estimation of the One-Phase Stefan Problem via Backstepping Design

open access: yes, 2017
This paper develops a control and estimation design for the one-phase Stefan problem. The Stefan problem represents a liquid-solid phase transition as time evolution of a temperature profile in a liquid-solid material and its moving interface.

ELECTRO HYDRAULIC SUSPENSION SYSTEM DESIGN WITH OPTIMAL STATE DERIVATIVE FEEDBACK CONTROLLER

open access: yesANADOLU UNIVERSITY JOURNAL OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY A - Applied Sciences and Engineering, 2017
This paper is concerned with a control design of an electro-hydraulic suspension system. In some practical problems, for instance in the active suspension design, the state derivative signals such as acceleration and velocity are easier to obtain rather than the state variables such as displacement and velocity, since the most commonly used sensors are

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
