Improving matrix estimation pertaining to detailed traffic information and sophisticated traffic state [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Technical innovation and extensive application of adaptive signal control at intersections have made turning flow information that provide more precise constraints for Origin-Destination matrix (O-D matrix) estimation easily available in great quantity ...

Advanced Steering Control Algorithm for Semi-Trailer Trucks Considering Trailer Dynamics and Lateral Motion Delay

open access: yesIEEE Access
In this paper, a novel steering control algorithm for semi-trailer trucks is proposed, which effectively incorporates the vehicle’s dynamic characteristics and compensates for lateral motion delays. To model the tractor and trailer, both kinematic

Association Between Individualized Education for Kidney Replacement Therapy Modality Selection and Peritoneal Dialysis Initiation: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an established home‐based kidney replacement therapy (KRT), but its uptake remains low in Japan. We evaluated whether individualized education in a dedicated outpatient clinic was associated with the initiation of PD.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Situational Awareness Tool for Emergency Operators in the Field

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper presents a mobile application designed to support emergency operators during indoor missions, where Global Positioning System (GPS) often fails. The system combines a wearable waist-mounted Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) with a network of pre-

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Secure State Estimation with Asynchronous Measurements for Coordinated Cyber Attack Detection in Active Distribution Systems

open access: yesEnergies
Coordinated cyber attacks tamper with measurement data to disrupt the situational awareness of active distribution systems. Various sensors report measurements asynchronously at different rates, which introduces challenges during state estimation.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Predictive Control Structure for a Two-Mass Drive System with a Two-Layer Observer

open access: yesEnergies
This paper presents the control problem of a drive system with an electric motor and a finitely stiff shaft. In such a system, effective damping of torsional vibrations requires the use of advanced control structures.
