Overview of batteries State of Charge estimation methods
Abstract In the present, electric and hybrid electric vehicles are more and more common. Usually, the main source of energy are batteries. To achieve optimal utilization and protection of batteries, battery management is used. This battery management system prevents batteries from overdischarge and overcharge and provides cell balancing.

A Behavioral Algorithm for State of Charge Estimation [PDF]
In Hybrid Electricle Vehicles (HEV), performing online energy management is an important task to be achieved to reduce emissions, fuel consumption and increase vehicle performance. For this task, estimating the State of Charge (SOC) is needed since it serves as a measure of energy that is left inside an electrochemical battery.

A Virtual Sensor for Electric Vehicles’ State of Charge Estimation [PDF]
The estimation of the state of charge is a critical function in the operation of electric vehicles. The battery management system must provide accurate information about the battery state, even in the presence of failures in the vehicle sensors. This article presents a new methodology for the state of charge estimation (SOC) in electric vehicles ...

State-of-Charge Estimation of Reconfigurable Supercapacitor
Abstract A large body of research has been done on state-of-charge (SOC) estimate of supercapacitors in the literature; most of the works have been on SOC estimation of individual supercapacitor units. Nonetheless, supercapacitors are usually linked to balancing circuits in real-world applications in order to remove inter-cell imbalances.
